Maria Furlano, L.Ac., MTOM, MQT is a Licensed Acupuncturist with her Masters Degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine. Maria is a Medical Qigong Therapist and has trained in Therepeutic and Energetic Bodywork since 1996. Maria began training in Martial Arts at age 12 with disciplined study for 9 years in Tae Kwon Do under Grandmaster David Chaanine. In 2000 & 2001 Maria traveled to China to study and experience the healing effects of Medical Qigong with Master Su Jian Wan, and his students from the Shaolin Temples. Currently Maria is training under Dr. Bernard Shannon, D.M.Q. (China) and the International Institute of Medical Qigong. Receiving her undergraduate training at the Boston Conservatory of Music, Maria has taught Theatrical Movement, Stage Combat, and Breathing Techniques to children and adults at UCLA, the Will Geer Theatricum Botanicom (L.A.), and the Boston Conservatory of Music. Since 2005 she has been a Qigong instructor with the Lionheart Institute of Transpersonal Energy Healing; has taught with the Touch Therapy Institute/National Holistic Institute teaching Body Mechanics, Business, Anatomy/Physiology, Qigong, Fibromyalgia, and PNF since 1999. Her private practice, Sacred Space Acupuncture Center (SacredSpaceAcu.com) is located in Studio City, CA.
