Massage Schools: Acupressure Ailments Massage Training
Points used to help alleviate Allergies.
Note: LI refers to the Large Intestine Meridian.
TH refers to the Triple Heater Meridian.
Have you ever had hiccups that just took forever to go away? Or have you been nauseous, had allergy attacks, or leg cramps?
Wouldn't it be great if there were simple pressure points on the body that could help reduce your discomfort? Well, there are! And these are called acupressure points.
Acupressure refers to the gentle application of finger pressure on points that are located on the major meridians, the energy pathways in the Chinese view of the body.
Most of us have heard of acupuncture, the insertion of needles into the body to improve health. There is, however, an even simpler form of working with these powerful points on the body, and that is acupressure.
The amount of pressure we give to the body with our fingers is about the weight of a quarter - and we don't need to use needles.
A client may come to us for a massage and complain of nausea or allergies. While our massage work relaxes the body and assists in its overall healing, with the addition of acupressure to our massage session, we can help even more directly some of our clients' conditions that are not directly related to muscles tension.
Students at NHI learn specific points that help deal with a variety of client ailments, such as:
- Allergy
- Headache
